About the role

Site technical authority for control systems at a Cardiff plant; makes controlled DCS/PLC programming changes, owns SIL-rated protective systems, maintains OT infrastructure. Valid right to work in the UK required - sponsorship is not available for this role.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Control Systems, or Instrumentation & Electronics
• ownership of instrumentation and control systems experience
• DCS software/hardware architecture experience
• hands-on PLC exposure (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, DeltaV), SCADA, ladder logic
• IEC 61511/61508 functional safety certification or willingness
• valid right to work in the UK required - sponsorship is not available for this role

What you'll do

• Technical authority for control systems and OT/IT infrastructure
• Make controlled programming changes to DCS and PLCs
• Set/maintain site standards for alarms, overrides, cybersecurity, IEC 61511 compliance
• Own protective systems (interlocks, trips, SIL functions)
• Maintain infrastructure from controllers/networks to historians/servers/backups
• Root cause analysis of plant performance issues
• SME on capital projects involving control and OT scope
