Material Scientist – Electroslag Remelting

About the role

Leidos seeks a Material Scientist for 100% onsite R&D at NETL in Albany, OR on novel slags with rare earth byproducts for electroslag remelting of steels and nickel superalloys.

Requirements

• Master's in Materials Science with 6+ years or PhD with 4+ years
• Microstructure characterization with SEM/EDS/EBSD
• Technical reports and journal articles
• Data analysis of microstructure-chemistry-property relationships
• Ability to gain access to NETL campus
