About the role

Principal Control & Instrumentation Engineer at Keppel (Infrastructure Division), Central Region Singapore - an operations & maintenance role at a power plant: instrument troubleshooting, leading shutdown works, hands-on field instrumentation, DCS/PLC systems, supervising on-site contractors, and CMMS/inventory management. This is a site-based O&M/maintenance position, not an EPC/office-based design engineering role.

Requirements

• Degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering or Electronics/Electrical Engineering with at least 7 years experience in instrumentation, or diploma with at least 10 years
• Proficient in codes and standards: BSI, ISO27001, ANSI, IEC, IEEE
• Hands-on experience in field instrumentation and sensors of different makes
• Proficient in power plant DCS and HMI systems, ABB Advant DCS / GE Alspa DCS an advantage
• Proficient in power plant PLC control systems
• Familiar with gas turbine/steam turbine operations and protection concepts
• Cyber security knowledge in Operation Technology an advantage

What you'll do

• Troubleshoot and correct instrument breakdowns/failures to restore plant functionality
• Respond to technical queries from operations personnel on power plant issues
• Follow and propose improvements to C&I work instructions
• Lead execution of shutdown works for instrumentation on schedule
• Coordinate cross-functional maintenance work across sections
• Perform pre-work and on-job risk assessments
• Monitor spare parts/inventory for critical instrumentation
• Provide technical inputs into procurement for materials/services
• Supervise on-site contractors and C&I vendors performing site work
• Populate CMMS with maintenance activity data
• Provide inputs to Planning Engineer on instrument maintenance activities
