Principal Research Scientist - Autonomous Systems

About the role

US Citizenship with the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret or higher clearance is required. Peraton Labs seeks a principal scientist to lead research in autonomous systems, AI-enabled cybersecurity, adversarial ML, LLMs, cyber/networking, and reinforcement learning. Requires PhD and 7+ years.

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science or related area and minimum 7 years of experience
• Research publications and hands-on development of research solutions
• Strong research and development experience in AI, cybersecurity, and autonomous systems
• Hands-on experience with transformers, feature engineering, deep neural networks, PyTorch or TensorFlow
• US Citizenship with the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret or higher clearance is required
• Travel to Basking Ridge, NJ as needed, expected at 25%

What you'll do

• Lead research programs and define directions for autonomous-systems projects
• Design, prototype, test, and demonstrate solutions
• Develop proposals and lead R&D for government customers
• Work on AI-enabled cybersecurity, adversarial ML, LLMs, cyber/networking models, reinforcement learning, and disinformation
