About the role

Dave, a consumer financial services app (ExtraCash, BNPL), seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend to build and evolve core platform services powering Dave Bank accounts, debit cards, payment processing, and sponsor bank/payment processor integrations. Virtual-first, work anywhere in the US except Hawaii.

Requirements

• 4+ years software engineering experience with backend focus
• Professional TypeScript and Node.js backend experience
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, design patterns, algorithms
• Experience designing RESTful APIs
• Experience building scalable distributed systems and cloud-native applications
• Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent experience

What you'll do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, resilient backend services (TypeScript/Node.js)
• Own and evolve distributed systems supporting banking, card management, payment processing, and partner integrations
• Architect technical solutions balancing scalability, maintainability, security
• Design data models and storage across SQL and NoSQL databases
• Participate in code reviews and mentoring
