About the role

Lam Research Global Products Group seeks a Software Engineer in the centralized software engineering team to design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs supporting Lam's etch and deposition products across the full product portfolio. Role covers design, infrastructure, and technology platforms, determining hardware compatibility and seamless SW/HW integration. Hybrid (On-site Flex, 3+ days on-site), Tualatin, OR.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of experience, or Master's degree with 3+ years, or PhD with no previous professional experience, or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Software/Design/Programming implementation and design, including Design Patterns and Finite State Machines
• Knowledge of multithreading, including preemptive thread scheduling
• Knowledgeable with communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, and UART

What you'll do

• Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for enhancements and new products
• Implement new customer requirements and features in existing applications
• Maintain and enhance existing code base by investigating and resolving problem areas
• Demonstrate solutions through clear documentation, flowcharts, and well-structured code
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop software programs
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring for more junior engineers
• Visit customer sites to provide support; travel less than 10%
