About the role

Senior/Specialist I&C engineer role at AtkinsRealis (Mississauga) designing and modernizing instrumentation and control systems for CANDU nuclear power plants: conceptual/detailed design, component specification/sizing, setpoint calculations, engineering design documents, loop/wiring diagrams, nuclear QA and CSA/IEEE standards. Requires 20+ years experience and P.Eng (Ontario).

Requirements

• Honours degree in relevant field of engineering
• Member in good standing of Professional Engineers of Ontario (P.Eng)
• Minimum 20 years of pertinent engineering experience
• Experience with I&C modernization of a nuclear power plant, especially safety-significant and nuclear instrumentation systems
• Knowledge of industrial/nuclear QA programs and CSA/IEEE I&C codes and standards

What you'll do

• Perform conceptual and detailed design of CANDU I&C systems and modifications
• Specification, sizing, and selection of I&C components; produce assessment documents, setpoint calculations, error analyses, technical specifications
• Update/prepare I&C engineering design documents (design requirements, elementary diagrams, functional specifications) and supporting analysis
• Provide input to drawing office for I&C engineering drawings (general arrangement, instrument loop diagrams, wiring/connection diagrams, bills of materials)
• Interface with engineering disciplines, suppliers, clients as prime I&C technical expert
• Respond to technical enquiries from design review teams and regulatory agencies
• Provide technical support to site engineering groups
• Mentor senior and junior engineering team members
