Staff Software Engineer

About the role

Tono Health seeks staff-level product engineer for autonomous specialty care clinic and EHR. Full-stack TypeScript monorepo, schema/migrations, tRPC, React/Next.js, agent infrastructure, production AI. Requires production ownership, relational fundamentals, product outcomes and agent systems/evaluations. NYC hybrid preferred, remote considered; $180k-$275k.

Requirements

• Staff-level experience building and operating production systems
• Strong full-stack TypeScript
• Relational schema design, migrations, query performance
• Iterative shipping with feature flags and instrumentation
• Drive ambiguous problems and outcomes
• Experience with agent systems and evaluations
• Build reliable AI/LLM features in production

• Own features in TypeScript monorepo
• Design schemas, migrations, tRPC APIs and React components
• Build agentic infrastructure and telemetry
• Build reliable clinical AI tools
