Student Research Assistant - Safe AI for Autonomous Driving

About the role

Current KIT IPEK Student Research Assistant opening in Karlsruhe, last updated 19 October 2026. The English section states applicants may communicate confidently in German and/or English, so English alone is sufficient. Bachelor and Master students eligible; 20–85 hours/month, flexible on-site or remote. The work is mainly literature review, research communication and documentation on safe AI for autonomous driving; Python/data analysis are optional.

Requirements

• Bachelor or Master enrollment in engineering, computer science, natural sciences or related field
• English alone is explicitly accepted; German is not required
• Interest in AI and safety of automated driving; communication and research-writing skills
• Python, data analysis or visualization are helpful but not required

What you'll do

• Research and summarize literature on safe autonomous driving and AI
• Support scientific publications and presentations
• Analyze, structure and visualize research results
• Assist with project documentation
