Software Engineering Intern

About the role

KLA Software Engineering Intern project: build on-demand containerized test environments for semiconductor inspection systems. Extend container-based prototype into configurable multi-service harness emulating multi-node distributed systems on one server; add network delay and fault injection; reproduce past defects; integrate with CI for automated integration tests. Potentially expand to central server plus about 20 nodes and measure resource/startup savings. Required Linux, Python or shell scripting, basic networking. Preferred Docker, CI/CD, distributed systems coursework/experience. Pay 37…

Requirements

• Linux
• Python or shell scripting
• Basic networking concepts
• Preferred: Docker/container tools, CI/CD, distributed systems coursework or experience

What you'll do

• Extend prototype into configurable multi-service containerized test environment
• Build harnesses emulating multi-node distributed systems on one server
• Add network delay and fault injection to simulate configurations and failures
• Validate harness by reproducing past defects
• Integrate into CI pipeline for automated integration tests
• Potentially apply framework to larger distributed system and measure resource/startup savings
