About the role

GitHub Monolith Fitness staff role builds highly performant, resilient, scalable collaboration services. It involves distributed systems, APIs, cloud architecture, observability, technical leadership, on-call, and preferred experience with GraphQL at scale or streaming systems.

Requirements

• 9+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent
• Large-scale system architecture and distributed systems
• Cloud environments or CNCF concepts
• Planetary-scale API platforms, monitoring, performance, API specifications, or GraphQL at scale
• Experience with queuing or streaming systems is a plus

What you'll do

• Design, develop, test, ship, and operate scalable solutions across GitHub services
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, pairing, and code reviews
• Own system health, on-call, and incidents
• Write architecture proposals and automate processes
• Design APIs and CI/CD pipelines
• Lead cross-functional technical solutions, testing plans, metrics, security, and roadmap
