Vice President, Data Centre Operations and Development

About the role

Qu Data Centres, a private-equity-backed Canadian data centre platform, seeks a VP, Data Centre Operations and Development in Greater Montreal (on-site, full-time) to lead national portfolio performance, reliability, expansion, CAPEX deployment and operations across colocation, AI and high-density compute. Requires 15+ years in data centre operations, critical facilities, construction or infrastructure leadership with multi-site 24x7 operations, colocation/high-density expertise, CAPEX and financial acumen, SOP/MOP/EOP discipline. No mention of visa sponsorship, citizenship or clearance.

Requirements

• 15+ years in data centre operations, critical facilities, construction or infrastructure leadership, including multi-site 24x7x365 operations and large technical teams
• Deep understanding of colocation and high-density compute environments
• Strong financial acumen: budgeting, forecasting, cost optimization, multi-site CAPEX planning
• Experience building and enforcing SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, change control, incident discipline and maintenance governance
• Understanding of modern data centre designs including high-density/DLC
• Experience with large customer data centre leasing models, power pass-through and metering
• Strong understanding of physical network infrastructure (fibre, copper, conduit)
• Asset: private-equity-backed exposure; GPU/high-density compute exposure

What you'll do

• Define and execute operational vision for national data centre portfolio (HD and LD colocation)
• Develop multi-site CAPEX deployment plan and 100-day tactical plan
• Lead design and construction readiness for expansion and retrofits
• Oversee facility operations: uptime, SLAs, capacity, change, provisioning, maintenance, commissioning
• Optimize space, power and cooling inventory
• Ensure health and safety, security and regulatory compliance
• Maintain emergency, incident response and business continuity procedures
• Lead energy-efficiency and PUE initiatives
• Oversee telecom infrastructure: MMRs, cross-connects, conduits
• Support customer contracts, installations and bids
• Build and lead a 24x7x365 operations team
