About the role

As our new Instrumentation Engineer, you will be responsible for stamping drawings and schematics, contributing to backfill plant design, commissioning instrumentation and industrial control systems and providing technical leadership and mentorship to staff within the team on our busy and growing Sudbury team. Consulting firm (SLR Consulting Americas) serving mining/heavy industrial clients.

Requirements

• 10-15 years of combined consulting and mining industry experience
• Experience and capability to thoroughly check I&C deliverables
• Relevant experience commissioning instrumentation and industrial control systems
• Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or related Engineering discipline (Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering)
• Registered or eligible to register as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng)
• Willingness and ability to travel as required

What you'll do

• Stamping drawings and schematics
• Contributing to backfill plant design
• Commissioning instrumentation and industrial control systems
• Providing technical leadership and mentorship to staff
• Provide E&I engineering technical support
• Prepare design deliverables: datasheets, process control diagrams, plot plans, control schematics, engineering work packages, installation details, control panel design, termination details
• Define scope of work, budget and schedule
• Conduct detailed reviews and authenticate deliverables
